Unlike patches, which provide a steady background dose, sprays work within 60 seconds, making them ideal for breakthrough cravings that occur despite other NRT use, or for people who need immediate relief from the urge to smoke.

These products are suitable for adults aged 18 and over who smoke and want to quit or reduce their cigarette consumption. They may be particularly appropriate if you:

• Experience intense, sudden cravings that need immediate relief
• Want a fast-acting NRT product that works within 60 seconds
• Are already using patches but need additional craving control
• Miss the hand-to-mouth action of smoking (mouth spray mimics this behaviour)

• Do not smoke while using NRT products, as this can lead to nicotine overdose
• Tell your pharmacist if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, a stomach ulcer, or thyroid problems
• If you experience persistent side effects or symptoms of nicotine overdose (nausea, dizziness, rapid heartbeat), stop using the product and seek advice
